ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT

WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Traditional Chinese practitioners believe that the body has about 2,000 acupuncture points, all connected by pathways, sometimes referred to as meridians. These pathways create Qi, an energy flow that courses through the body and is responsible for an individual’s health. When these pathways are blocked, the energy flow is disrupted, possibly resulting in illness. Placing the needles helps open the pathways, restore balance, and improve health. This happens because acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system, which – in turn – releases helpful chemicals into your muscles, brain, and spinal cord.

Acupuncture helps with a variety of bodily issues. If you’re experiencing any imbalance in the body, you can benefit from acupuncture.

Individuals who have experienced success with acupuncture trust the methods of acupuncture treatments. We’ve had success with individuals who’ve experienced the physical ailments above. We, at Health Craft Clinic, have licensed acupuncture practitioners to help you on the road to recovery. If your Doctor / Physiotherapist recommends that Acupuncture will aid you to feel better physically, we welcome you to call us.

IS ACUPUNCTURE PAINFUL?

Most patients who hear the word ‘acupuncture’ are daunted by the insertion of needles and the ‘possible’ pain that comes with it. This is a natural concern. In western medicine, we associate needles (or injections) with discomfort. Our patients at Health Craft clinic are in good care. Our acupuncture patients experience very little or sometimes no pain at all during the process.

We always want to make sure our patients feel comfortable. We explain to our patients the step by step process of acupuncture to make sure they’re feeling relaxed with the treatment.

Prior to the treatment, we will discuss any current bodily issues you may be experiencing currently. This can be physically, mentally and emotionally. As an acupuncturist, we will work according to the needs of the patient.

The thickness of the needles are as thin as a piece of hair. The needle lengths vary in size, including 15mm, 30mm, 40mm, and 75mm. Different body parts require different lengths to be effective. Depending on the patient’s comfort level, we insert a number of needles in and around the affected area. We stimulate the area by moving the needle in and out of the affected region either manually or with an electrical stimulation unit. Needles remain for a prescribed amount of time before they are removed entirely.
